Al-Azhar's humanitarian beacon shines bright, 2nd massive convoy enroute to Gaza

In a commendable display of compassion and solidarity, the Egyptian Zakat and Charity House (EZCH), under the guidance of Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, has dispatched its largest relief convoy to the beleaguered Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

Underlining their commitment to alleviating the suffering caused by the Israeli occupation’s aggression, the EZCH convoy embarked on its journey towards the Rafah border crossing this Saturday.

Comprising an impressive fleet of 40 trucks laden with crucial supplies such as medicines, food, relief materials, and shelter provisions, this initiative reflects the unwavering dedication of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif to extending a helping hand in times of crisis.

This marks the second significant effort by EZCH as part of an ongoing campaign initiated by the Grand Imam at the onset of the Israeli occupation’s aggression against the people of Gaza.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Al-Azhar Al-Sharif emphasized the dual nature of this initiative, driven by both religious and legal duty, coupled with a profound sense of humanitarian and moral responsibility towards the suffering brothers and sisters in Gaza.

The statement further articulated the dire circumstances faced by the Palestinian people, including a stifling siege, relentless bombing, widespread killing, and forced displacement.

The tragic toll, it noted, has surpassed 11,000 innocent citizens, with nearly half of them being children – a stark reminder of the urgent need for international aid and intervention.

The first convoy, launched at the end of October, comprised 18 trucks loaded with crucial supplies, including medicines, medical equipment, food, and relief materials.

Al-Azhar’s continuous efforts underscore its commitment to providing sustained relief and support to the resilient people of Gaza in the face of adversity.

As the convoy makes its way to Gaza, the Grand Imam’s call for solidarity echoes loudly, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts to ease the suffering of those caught in the crossfire of conflict.
