Gambian pride soars as President Barrow applauds Mayor Malick Lowe for winning international accolades
The Gambian President Adama Barrow, has praised the Mayor of Banju, Malick Lowe, for winning international accolades for the Gambia.
Lowe was praised while presenting the prestigious awards bestowed upon her by the United Nations Habitat and the Global Parliament of Mayors to his excellency
Congratulating Mayor Lowe, President Barrow said, “Congratulations to the Mayor of Banjul, Rohey Malick Lowe on your achievements of the UN-Habitat Citation and Dr Benjamin Barber Global City Award.
“Visiting me in my village and presenting your Awards to me, is an honour. It is also reflective of how the Central and decentralised structures should relate. We are serving the same people, and our cooperation would advance #Gambia.”
These distinguished accolades, received in October and November respectively, were presented to Mayor Lowe by H.E. Maimunah Mohd Sharif, Under Secretary General and Executive Director of UN Habitat, and His Excellency Steve Pendarovski of the Republic of North Macedonia.
