Zimbabwe: Deputy chief secretary’s daughter killed in road accident

In a heart-wrenching incident, Miss Kundayi Manungo, 33, the daughter of Mr. Willard Manungo, Deputy Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet, met a tragic end in a road traffic accident on Wednesday afternoon.
The unfortunate incident occurred as she was returning from the commissioning of the newly renovated ZIMRA Customs House in Mutare.
Miss Manungo, an accomplished architect at the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA), was involved in the accident near the bridge between the dualised sections of the highway in Melfort.
The news was confirmed by her grieving father, Mr. Willard Manungo, who expressed his profound sorrow, stating, “I lost a daughter, Kundayi Manungo, in a road accident in Melfort on Wednesday around 14:30 pm.”
The family has announced plans for the funeral, with the intention to lay Miss Kundayi Manungo to rest in Shurugwi on Tuesday.
Mourners are currently gathering at 15 Worpleston Way in Glen Lorne, where Kundayi will be lying in state on Sunday. The somber departure for Shurugwi is scheduled for Monday morning.
