Burkina Faso celebrates national decoration ceremony 2023, 357 outstanding individuals honored

Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, the President of the Transition and Grand Master of the Burkinabè Orders, bestowed honors upon 357 distinguished individuals, marking a pivotal moment in the celebration of Burkina Faso’s 63rd anniversary of independence.

The National Decoration Ceremony 2023 was a poignant tribute to the exceptional contributions of 357 individuals who have demonstrated unwavering dedication and outstanding service to the nation.


President Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, in his capacity as the Grand Master of the Burkinabè Orders, presided over the ceremony, recognizing 205 recipients in the Order of the Standard and 152 in the Order of Merit.

These honorees, spanning various sectors including public administration, private enterprise, religious and customary communities, cultural sectors, and the rural landscape, were lauded for their sacrifices and commitment to the welfare of Burkina Faso.

The ceremony aimed to acknowledge and appreciate the invaluable contributions made by these sons and daughters during a crucial period of reclaiming national territory.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the nation, President TRAORE emphasized the significance of this recognition as an invitation for all citizens to unite and commit themselves to the challenges of the Transition.
