Mumbai police arrest DJ manager for repeatedly raping Mexican woman

In a shocking revelation, the Mumbai police has apprehended a 35-year-old man, also a disc jockey (DJ), for allegedly subjecting a 31-year-old Mexican DJ to multiple instances of sexual assault.

The accused, who doubles as the victim’s manager, was taken into custody on Friday following a complaint filed by the survivor last week, as confirmed by an official from the Bandra police station.

The distressing details emerged when the survivor disclosed in her complaint that she had encountered the accused on social media back in 2017.

According to the police official, the accused reportedly sexually assaulted her at his residence in Bandra in July 2019, initiating a series of subsequent rapes.

The survivor claimed that the accused exploited his position of authority, threatening to jeopardize her professional assignments if she resisted his advances.

Additionally, he allegedly used intimate pictures to blackmail her, creating a coercive environment.

Despite the accused getting married to another woman in 2020, the survivor continued to face harassment.

The accused persistently sent inappropriate messages and made explicit demands, as outlined in the victim’s complaint.

The relentless nature of the harassment prompted the survivor to approach the authorities, leading to the registration of a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The police have invoked IPC sections 376 (rape), 377 (unnatural sex), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), and 506 (criminal intimidation) against the accused. The investigation is currently underway, with law enforcement committed to ensuring justice for the survivor.
