Banjul Mayor Lowe crowned African Woman of the Year 2024 in Nairobi
The Mayor of Banjul, Malick Lowe, has been honored with the prestigious African Woman of the Year 2024 Award.
This accolade, presented during the Voice Business Summit and Achievers Award ceremony, stands as a significant achievement not just for Mayor Lowe, but for the people of Banjul and The Gambia as a whole.
Expressing her gratitude, Mayor Lowe said, “I am deeply honored and profoundly grateful to receive the African Woman of the Year 2024 Award in Nairobi, Kenya. I accept this recognition on behalf of the people of Banjul in particular and The Gambia in general.” Her heartfelt appreciation extended to the organizers of the event and to everyone who contributed to her win.
Mayor Lowe also took a moment to commend the outstanding performance of Jali Madi, saying, “Your performance was so outstanding and you are amazing.”
She also congratulated Her Excellencies Dr. Ida Odinga and Governor Wavinya Ndeti Oduwole of Machakos for their well-deserved awards.
Special thanks were directed towards Aminata Jarju of Amina’s Fashion, who played a crucial role in Mayor Lowe’s nomination. “I am really short of words to express my appreciation to you for nominating me and tirelessly defending my nomination for seven good months. Thank you so much,” Mayor Lowe added with emotion.
