President Barrow champions road infrastructure development
The Gambian Ministry of Transport, Works and Infrastructure has provided a comprehensive update on the status of ongoing road projects across the country.

The presentation highlighted a range of significant projects, including the Bertil Harding Highway, the Hakalang Road, the Upper River Region (URR) and Central River Region (CRR) Roads project, the Kombo Roads Project, and an ambitious 50KM urban roads initiative.
The ministry also addressed ongoing road maintenance efforts in the Greater Banjul area, underscoring the government’s commitment to improving transportation networks throughout the region.
President Adama Barrow presided over the forum, acknowledging the overall progress made in the infrastructure sector. However, he expressed concern over the performance of some contractors who failed to meet their project targets during the specified period. .
“While we have seen advancements, it is imperative that all contractors adhere to their contracts and deliver on their commitments,” President Barrow emphasized.
