CWIN Africa to hold convention for young leaders, entrepreneurs
CWIN Africa has announced that it will be hosting its annual Young and More Africa (YAMA) Convention for young people, youths, entrepreneurs, and changemakers.
The founder of CWIN Africa and convener of the YAMA Convention, Ijeoma Dicta Okoye, who made this known through a communique, said the event will be held next Saturday in Abuja.
Okoye noted the YAMA Convention is an annual convergence of business leaders, industry experts, thought leaders, professionals, innovators, visionaries, founders, pioneers, influencers, creators and changemakers.
She further noted that they launched YAMA in 2020 as a network of changemakers committed to providing resources, education, and global insights to empower young leaders in Nigeria and across Africa to achieve their aspirations.
She stated that YAMA is partnering with the United Nations to drive the actualisation of SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Development), and SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals).
Okoye further stated that they aim to gather young people from all walks of life and connect them with established leaders and industry experts to network and grow.
“This is to be achieved through our line-up of symposiums and board events ─ physical and virtual. We have hosted the physical editions in Awka, Lagos and Asaba,” she added.
She said this year’s convention aims to inspire and empower young individuals by providing them with essential skills, knowledge, and a forward-thinking mindset to birth their ideas, nurture them and thrive as future leaders and entrepreneurs.
“With our line-up of distinguished speakers from across the country and beyond, this event serves as a platform to connect like-minded individuals and provide networking opportunities aimed at motivating participants to embrace innovation and actively shape their future.
“We acknowledge that the youth are crucial catalysts for social transformation and economic advancement across all sectors. So, there is a need to have established leaders in various sectors share their wealth of knowledge and foster collaborations,” she added.

Okoye revealed that they have hosted four editions of the YAMA Convention, gathering over 5,000 delegates across Nigeria and playing host to over 20 speakers who have shared insightful thoughts with them.
“We have recorded 100 per cent feedback from delegates. We have seen delegates run with the knowledge gained during our events, establish great businesses, kick off their careers and win at it,” she said.
Some delegates from the previous YAMA Conventions commented on how the convention has impacted them.
Dr Ifunanya Igweze, founder of Preggify and delegate of the YAMA Convention 2022 held in Lagos, revealed that it was at the convention that she met the person whose mentorship and guidance changed her life and birthed Preggify.
Chidinma Favour Anosike stated that attending the YAMA Convention 2023 was worth it, adding that it is an event every young person needs to attend to help them with clarity, skill, acquisition and purpose discovery.
Chioma Nnanna said that the 2021 convention was an amazing experience, adding, “What stood out for me was how the speakers taught, giving their personal experiences.”
The convener of the YAMA Convention, Ijeoma Okoye, appreciated CWIN Africa, Eaglesmind Fashion, Creatorsio, Print Doctor Africa, GoNomad, Lekutrade Properties, and others for partnering with them on the event.
