Rwandan President Kagame launches leadership school to empower African leaders
Rwandan President Paul Kagame has launched the African School of Governance (ASG), a higher education institution aimed at equipping emerging African leaders with the skills needed to tackle the continent’s governance challenges.
In collaboration with former Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, ASG will offer top-tier education in public policy and governance while fostering home-grown solutions for Africa’s unique challenges.
The school, based in Kigali, plans to empower 30 million young Africans, 70% of whom are women, with dignified work opportunities by 2030.
ASG’s inaugural president, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, former deputy governor of Nigeria’s Central Bank and a globally recognized public policy expert, will lead the institution. The school’s programs will cater to all levels of leadership development, from undergraduates to senior executives, with courses such as the Master of Public Administration and the Executive Master of Public Administration.
This initiative aims to develop a new generation of leaders who can drive sustainable development across the continent.
