Nigerian military captures female ammunition courier for notorious terrorist Turji
In a significant breakthrough against terrorism in Zamfara State, the Nigerian military has apprehended a 25-year-old woman, Shamsiyya Ahadu, suspected of smuggling ammunition to the camp of wanted terrorist kingpin, Bello Turji.
The arrest was part of the ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks in the region.
CABS World News correspondent gathered on Sunday, that Ms. Ahadu was arrested on December 28, alongside her accomplice, Ahmed Husaini, in the Badarawa area of Shinkafi Local Government Area. She was found in possession of 764 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and six magazines, intended for delivery to Turji’s camp.
“Her arrest followed an intelligence report regarding the movement of the terrorists’ logistics along the road from Kware to Badarawa communities in the Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara state,” the statement revealed.
Troops from Sector 2 Joint Task Force North West, operating under Operation Fansan Yamma, swiftly set up a roadblock to intercept the suspects based on the intelligence tip-off. Their decisive action led to the capture of both Ms. Ahadu and Mr. Husaini.
Both suspects are now undergoing thorough investigation by the appropriate authorities to uncover further details about their operations and affiliations.
The military emphasized its unwavering commitment to combating terrorism and preventing the illegal movement of arms and ammunition within its operational theater. “Members of the public are therefore urged not to relent in their efforts at providing credible information that would lead to the arrest of wanted terrorists and their collaborators,” the statement concluded.
This arrest is a major stride in curtailing the influence of Bello Turji, a notorious figure linked to numerous violent activities in the North West region. It demonstrates the military’s resolve to ensure peace and security in the area while calling on citizens to support these efforts through timely and credible intelligence sharing.
