ECOWAS, India strengthen ties to boost trade, investment, security

In a bid to enhance bilateral relations, the Chief of Mission of the Indian High Commission to Nigeria, Ms. Vartika Rawat, met with the President of the ECOWAS Commission, Dr. Omar Alieu Touray, in Abuja on Thursday, February 6, 2025.
The visit underscored India’s commitment to deepening cooperation with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) across key sectors.
During their discussions, both officials explored opportunities for economic and trade collaboration, capacity building, and investment as strategic measures to address security challenges within the ECOWAS region.
The engagement signals a renewed partnership between India and ECOWAS, aimed at fostering economic growth, strengthening regional stability, and creating a more robust framework for mutual development.
