MK Party, led by Jacob Zuma, sets sights on two-thirds majority in upcoming general elections

Former ANC President Jacob Zuma declared the newly-formed MK party’s ambitious goal of securing a two-thirds majority in this year’s general elections.

Zuma, who recently threw his support behind the party, received a warm welcome at the rally, signaling a potential shift in political dynamics.

The MK party’s inaugural major rally in the province drew hundreds of attendees, with Zuma emphasizing the party’s primary focus on land and restoring power to traditional leaders.

Zuma proclaimed, “Our land will return, and we will put it to better use. Parliament is no longer the same; back then, traditional leaders held higher authority, and politicians reported to them.”

Despite facing negative comments and his recent imprisonment for contempt of court related to the State Capture Commission, Zuma remains undeterred.

He criticized the Constitutional Court, claiming they took away his constitutional rights and insisted on the influence of leaders in his case.

He stated, “Many were happy, including the one who is leading the government.”

The rally saw traditional and religious leaders pledge their support for Zuma and the MK party. Some went as far as threatening to shut down the country should the party fail to secure a two-thirds majority.

A traditional leader urged supporters to mobilize for Moses Mabhida Stadium, saying, “Let us prepare to ensure that Nxamalala gets a two-thirds majority. If he does not get it, we will close South Africa from Cape to Cairo.”

As the MK party continues to gain momentum, it urges its supporters to register for voting during the upcoming weekend’s voter registration drive.

The party’s call to action emphasizes the importance of active participation to achieve their ambitious electoral goals.
