{"id":1713,"date":"2022-11-24T10:41:37","date_gmt":"2022-11-24T10:41:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/africaparrot.com\/?p=1713"},"modified":"2022-11-24T10:41:37","modified_gmt":"2022-11-24T10:41:37","slug":"walmart-manager-in-virginia-kills-self-6-other-employees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/africaparrot.com\/index.php\/2022\/11\/24\/walmart-manager-in-virginia-kills-self-6-other-employees\/","title":{"rendered":"Walmart manager in Virginia kills self, 6 other employees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A manager at a Walmart Inc store in Virginia opened fire on fellow employees in a break room, killing six before turning the gun on himself, eyewitnesses said on Wednesday after the country&#8217;s latest mass shooting.<\/p><div class=\"afric-content\" id=\"afric-76241522\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.schools.nyc.gov\/hello?utm_source=ecm-digital&#038;utm_medium=cpc&#038;utm_campaign=lac-dex-2026&#038;utm_content=french\" aria-label=\"French&#8212;300&#215;250\"><img src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/africaparrot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/French-300x250-1.gif?fit=300%2C250&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\"  class=\"no-lazyload\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\"   \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>The gunman, identified as Andre Bing, 31, of Chesapeake, Virginia, said nothing as he began firing on workers gathered late on Tuesday ahead of their overnight shift, according to two employees who were in the break room.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just watched 3 of my coworkers\/friends be killed in front of me,\u201d Donya Prioleau wrote in a Facebook post.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAndre killed them in cold blood &#8230; I cannot unsee what happened in that break room.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At least four others were wounded in the attack, which took place while about 50 people were inside the store.<\/p>\n<p>Chesapeake police identified the dead as Brian Pendleton, 38, Kellie Pyle, 52, Lorenzo Gamble, 43, and Randy Blevins, 70, all from Chesapeake, and Tyneka Johnson, 38, of neighboring Portsmouth. A 16-year-old boy from Chesapeake, whose name was withheld because he was a minor, was also killed.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities say they were still investigating what may have motivated Bing, who came armed with a single handgun and multiple magazines of ammunition. The city said its SWAT team had executed a search warrant at his house.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDetectives are working to learn more about the shooter&#8217;s background and what may have motivated the shooting,\u201d the city said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Another Walmart employee, Briana Tyler,said: \u201cI looked up and my manager just opened the door and he just opened fire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Several co-workers of Bing said he had exhibited strange and sometimes threatening behavior in the past.
