{"id":1754,"date":"2022-11-28T09:16:25","date_gmt":"2022-11-28T09:16:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/africaparrot.com\/?p=1754"},"modified":"2022-11-28T09:16:25","modified_gmt":"2022-11-28T09:16:25","slug":"amf-signs-1b-agreement-with-yemeni-government-courtesy-of-saudi-arabia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/africaparrot.com\/index.php\/2022\/11\/28\/amf-signs-1b-agreement-with-yemeni-government-courtesy-of-saudi-arabia\/","title":{"rendered":"AMF signs $1B agreement with Yemeni government, courtesy of Saudi Arabia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sponsored by Saudi Arabia, the Arab Monetary Fund signed a $1 billion agreement with the Yemeni government to support an economic, financial and monetary reform program, the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday.<\/p><div class=\"afric-content\" id=\"afric-4247837184\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.schools.nyc.gov\/hello?utm_source=ecm-digital&#038;utm_medium=cpc&#038;utm_campaign=lac-dex-2026&#038;utm_content=french\" aria-label=\"French&#8212;300&#215;250\"><img src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/africaparrot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/French-300x250-1.gif?fit=300%2C250&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\"  class=\"no-lazyload\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\"   \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>The Kingdom\u2019s Finance Minister Mohammed bin Abdullah al-Jadaan said that the program aims to help support the Yemeni government\u2019s effort to strengthen its financial status, develop the country\u2019s banking sector and provide a boost to its private sector and economic development.<\/p>\n<p>The AMF-led program, which will run until 2025, seeks to establish the foundations of economic, financial and monetary stability in Yemen and rebuild its institutions, providing a push for social development, job creation and sustainable economic growth.<\/p>\n<p>The program will see the development of the financial sector\u2019s public resources and enhance the government\u2019s efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>Saudi Arabia\u2019s sponsorship of the agreement comes as an extension of its support for the Yemeni economy to help improve the daily life of its war-weary people.<\/p>\n<p>According to SPA, the Kingdom deposited $1 billion in 2021 and $2 billion in 2018 to cover the import of basic food commodities such as wheat grains, flour, rice, milk, cooking oil and sugar.
