Jean Carroll and Donald Trump plan to testify against each other at upcoming civil trial, in which the writer is suing the former president for sexual battery and defamation, according to new court filings.<\/p><div class=\"afric-content\" id=\"afric-2713748903\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.schools.nyc.gov\/hello?utm_source=ecm-digital&#038;utm_medium=cpc&#038;utm_campaign=lac-dex-2026&#038;utm_content=french\" aria-label=\"French&#8212;300&#215;250\"><img src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/africaparrot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/French-300x250-1.gif?fit=300%2C250&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\"  class=\"no-lazyload\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\"   \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Both are listed as the first potential witness their lawyers will call to the witness stand at the trial starting April 25 in legal papers filed late Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s lawyers also plan to call CNN host Anderson Cooper, New York Magazine editor David Haskell, and Carroll\u2019s friends, whom she claims she confided in about the alleged assault.<\/p>\n<p>Carroll plans to call many of her closest confidantes and former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham, among other witnesses.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, Manhattan Federal Court Judge Lewis Kaplan said the trial would commence this spring after Trump\u2019s lawyers asked to push it back to summer.<\/p>\n<p>The judge is yet to say whether it\u2019ll consolidate two lawsuits that Carroll has filed against Trump. Both center on Carroll\u2019s claims that the former president raped her inside Bergdorf Goodman on Fifth Ave. between the fall of 1995 and the spring of 1996.<\/p>\n<p>Carroll says she still has the dress she wore during the encounter, which she never washed, and believes it has traces of Trump\u2019s DNA.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>E.
