South Africa’s Deputy President, David Mabuza<\/a>, has officially bowed out.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa<\/a> had made official the departure of his deputy, David Mabuza, on Thursday, February 16. <\/p>\n

The president thanked him for his “unwavering support” over the past five years, hailing his ably led engagements.<\/p>\n

Ramaphosa was in Cape Town for the response to the state of the nation address debate.<\/p>\n

The announcement comes as a cabinet reshuffle is expected in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

David Mabuza revealed earlier this month he had submitted his resignation.<\/p>\n

In the past, the VP’s opponents accused him of running a private group that allegedly intimidated other politicians when he headed the northeastern province of Mpumalanga.<\/p>\n
