Arab League<\/a> permanent members have held an emergency meeting in Cairo, Egypt, to address the ongoing fighting in Sudan.<\/p>

Egypt’s deputy permanent representative presented a draft resolution aimed at halting the conflict in the neighboring country.<\/p>\n

Obaida el-Dandarawy, Egypt’s deputy permanent representative, outlined the key points of the resolution, which called for an immediate and comprehensive cessation of conflict. <\/p>\n

The draft resolution emphasized the need for all conflicting parties to prioritize the well-being of the Sudanese people and put an end to the bloodshed. It also emphasized the importance of returning to political dialogue as a means to resolve the crisis comprehensively.<\/p>\n

The violence between Sudan’s army and the paramilitary group Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has claimed the lives of at least 528 people, with nearly 4,600 individuals wounded, according to official reports. Despite the formal extension of a truce, fierce fighting continued on Monday between the warring sides in Sudan.<\/p>\n

The escalating violence has forced approximately 50,000 people to flee their homes, seeking refuge in neighboring countries such as Egypt, the Central African Republic, and Chad.<\/p>\n

Expressing concern over the dire situation, Martin Griffiths, the top United Nations humanitarian official, highlighted the exponentially rising costs of transportation out of the worst-hit areas in Sudan.<\/p>\n
