In a resounding celebration of the power of tourism through film, The Gambia has emerged victorious in the 2023 “UNWTO Tourism Video Competition: “Celebrating the Power of Tourism through Film.”<\/p>

Member States from across the globe participated in this prestigious competition, where their submissions were meticulously evaluated by a distinguished jury comprising top media professionals. <\/p>\n

The crux of the evaluation revolved around how effectively the videos conveyed the positive impacts of tourism.<\/p>\n

The competition was divided into two categories, each with its unique focus. <\/p>\n

The first category, titled ‘Tourism and the Decade of Action,’ assessed submissions based on their ability to exemplify how the tourism sector is contributing to the realization of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. <\/p>\n

Entrants were encouraged to reference one or more of the 17 Global Goals in their videos, showcasing how tourism can be a driving force for global progress.<\/p>\n

In the second category, ‘Exceptional Stories of Sustainable Tourism,’ participating Member States were tasked with presenting extraordinary examples that epitomize the human aspect of tourism. <\/p>\n
