Banjul Mayor Malick Lowe inaugurates UN-sponsored GAMBIFOOD processing center in Kerr Jarga
Banjul Malick Lowe, Mayor of Banjul, has shared a significant event – the inauguration of the GAMBIFOOD Processing Center at Kerr Jarga, Jokadou District, North Bank Region.
This UN-sponsored project aims to empower women in entrepreneurship and was successfully implemented by the dynamic and action-oriented Fatoumatta Jawara of the Maa Foundation.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of notable figures, including the First Lady Fatoumatta Bah Barrow, Madam Jallow (wife of the vice-president), the UNFPA Resident Representative, Imam Ratib, Alkalo of Kerr Jarga, Governor of North Bank Mr. Lamin Saidykhan, and various other government officials.
Mayor Banju Malick Lowe expressed heartfelt congratulations to the women of North Bank and extended sincere thanks and appreciation to the project’s sponsor and the Maa Foundation.
This initiative reflects a commitment to fostering women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship, showcasing the collaborative efforts of government, NGOs, and international support in creating meaningful opportunities for the community.
