Gambia: 4th suspect nabbed in Keneba armed robbery, police tussle ends in injuries

The Gambia police have successfully arrested the fourth suspect linked to the Kiang Keneba suspected armed robbery incident.

The arrest unfolded on 1st March 2024 at approximately 14:00hrs, culminating in a tense confrontation between law enforcement and the apprehended individual, leaving two Police Intervention Unit (PIU) personnel injured.


The suspect, taken into custody after a physical tussle with the police, was subsequently identified as a resident of Kerr Ngor Nyan Village. A thorough search of his residence led to the discovery of incriminating evidence, including a stash of cash, new clothes, pairs of shoes, a menacing cutlass, and an axe. Mobile phones were also seized from the suspect during an ambush laid out for his arrest.

The ongoing investigation into the Keneba armed robbery now involves all four apprehended suspects, who are currently in police custody.
