In a significant development for Senegal’s economy, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko met with international soccer icon Sadio Mané to discuss the latter’s ambitious plans to invest in the country’s agro-industry.

Mané, renowned for his prowess on the football field, is now turning his attention to transforming Senegal’s agricultural landscape.

During the meeting, which also touched on Mané’s sports initiatives within Senegal, the Prime Minister expressed strong support for the soccer star’s investment plans.

“I encourage him in this direction and appeal to all Senegalese wishing to support the collective effort towards a better Senegal by investing in the structural transformation of our economy,” Sonko wrote on his verified Facebook page.

He assured potential investors of the government’s full support, in line with the directives of President Macky Sall.

In addition to his agricultural ambitions, Mané’s patriotism was highlighted by his decision to offer free advertising for the national airline, Air Senegal.

The jerseys of Bourges Foot 18, a club owned by Mané, will feature the airline’s logo, showcasing his dedication to promoting national interests abroad.

Mané’s initiative is expected to contribute significantly to the structural transformation of Senegal’s economy, aligning with national goals of economic diversification and development.
