GPF celebrates officers' triumph in advanced security training from Turkey

The Gambia Police Force (GPF) marked a momentous occasion on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, celebrating the return of nine distinguished officers who successfully completed an advanced training program in Turkey. These officers were feted at a grand ceremony held at the Gambia Police Headquarters in Banjul, recognizing their dedication and accomplishments in the field of security studies.

The event was graced by key figures from the police leadership, including Commissioner of Police Administration Mustapha Ndong, Commissioner for International Affairs Famara Jobarteh, and Deputy Commissioner and Head of Human Resources, Omar D. Bah.

Their presence underscored the significance of this achievement and the GPF’s commitment to professional growth and international cooperation.

The officers, namely ASP Bakary Tamba, ASP Pa Bisenty Mendy, ASP Ousman Darboe, ASP Suwaibou Camara, C/ASP Vincent Lazar Jatta, C/ASP Augustus Gomez, C/ASP Foday Bojang, C/ASP Fatou B. Gibba, and C/ASP Sainabou Bah, were honored for completing a rigorous Master’s degree program in security strategies and management, alongside specialized policy chieftaincy training at the Turkish Police Training Academy. Their perseverance and hard work were lauded by their colleagues and superiors alike.

ASP Bakary Tamba, representing the group, expressed their collective gratitude to the GPF leadership for providing this invaluable educational opportunity.
