Bodies of British tech mogul Lynch, daughter, others recovered from Sunken £30m superyacht

Search teams have recovered the bodies of British tech mogul Mike Lynch, his teenage daughter Hannah, and two others from the wreckage of Lynch’s £30 million superyacht, Bayesian.

The yacht sank off the coast of Sicily on Monday morning after being struck by a rare ‘black swan’ waterspout.

The tragic event has left one person still unaccounted for, with a fifth body located but not yet retrieved.

The Chief of Civil Protection confirmed that the bodies of Lynch, often referred to as ‘Britain’s Bill Gates,’ and his daughter were among those identified.

The bodies were brought ashore by divers and placed in a tent before being transferred to a waiting ambulance. Two men and one woman were taken to the morgue for formal identification, while the gender of the remaining two bodies has yet to be confirmed.

Among those still missing are Morgan Stanley executive Jonathan Bloomer, his wife Judy, and American citizens Chris and Neda Morvillo, a jewelry designer. The body of a crew member, chef Recaldo Thomas, was discovered on Monday.

The discovery of these bodies comes at a particularly poignant time for Lynch, who was celebrating his legal victory in a U.S. fraud trial over the £8.3 billion sale of his tech firm, Autonomy, to Hewlett-Packard.

The incident adds another layer of tragedy to an already sorrowful narrative, as Stephen Chamberlain, the former vice president of finance at Autonomy and Lynch’s co-defendant, was struck and killed by a car while jogging in Cambridgeshire on Saturday.

Specialist divers are continuing to search the wreckage of the Bayesian, holding onto the slim hope that survivors might be found in air pockets within the vessel. The search and recovery operation is ongoing, as the world watches in somber anticipation for any further developments.
