Daylight Africa Week 2024 wraps up with hope and empowerment for African communities

The third annual Daylight Africa Week, an initiative focused on promoting tourism, cultural exchange, and economic empowerment across Africa, successfully concluded with a series of impactful events. Organized by Sheikh Musa Drammeh, Founder of Daylight Africa Inc., and Mutiu Olawuyi, Executive Director, this year’s event was highlighted by humanitarian efforts aimed at health and education.

One of the key features of Daylight Africa Week 2024 was its partnership with Glory of Hope Foundation, led by Dr. Gloria Bent. Together, they hosted a health fair and back-to-school gifting programs in Senegal and The Gambia, which provided much-needed resources to local communities.

Sheikh Drammeh expressed his gratitude for leading the event, emphasizing its importance in Africa’s development. “It’s an honor to lead Daylight Africa Week, making a profound impact on a continent with vast resources and untapped potential,” he said. “The contrast between Africa’s wealth and its citizens’ poverty is unacceptable. We are committed to bridging this gap.”

Mutiu Olawuyi, Executive Director of Daylight Africa, praised the efforts of the Senegambia team and volunteers who made the event possible. “Our team has worked tirelessly, and we’re thankful for the philanthropists who continue to support our mission to connect Africa’s descendants with their ancestral roots,” said Olawuyi.

Sheikh Drammeh further highlighted the event’s goal of showcasing Africa’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty to the world. “Daylight Africa Week is a beacon of hope for a future where Africa’s resources benefit its people,” he remarked.

In closing, Daylight Africa called on corporate leaders and philanthropists to support their mission of sponsoring at least 12 pilgrims from each African nation annually, with the aim of sending 648 individuals on trips that reconnect them with their heritage. Online registration for Daylight Africa Week 2025 is now open.
