Security operatives rescue six kidnapped farmers in Katsina
KATSINA – In a successful operation, security operatives have rescued six farmers, including three women and three children, who were kidnapped by bandits in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State. The victims were abducted on September 26, 2024, while harvesting maize near Gurbi Magariya village.
Dr. Nasir Muazu, the state’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, confirmed the rescue in a statement released on Friday. The swift response was coordinated by local vigilantes working closely with the Community Watch Corps, the military, police, Civil Defence, and the Department of State Services (DSS).

The Katsina State Government commended the security agencies and community vigilantes for their brave efforts in ensuring the safe return of the abducted individuals.
