Gambia: NAWEC offers condolences after death of seven workers in high-tension incident
The management and staff of the National Water and Electricity Company (NAWEC) has offered condolence after the tragic loss of seven workers from KEI Construction Company.
These workers lost their lives in a devastating incident involving high-tension cables in the area between Essau, Sami, and Mendy Kunda.
“It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that the management and staff of NAWEC extend our heartfelt condolences to the families, colleagues, and loved ones of the seven workers,” the statement reads.
“We are devastated by this loss and offer our deepest sympathies during this incredibly difficult time.”

NAWEC message emphasized their solidarity with the victims’ families, stating, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims, as well as the entire community affected by this heartbreaking incident.”
The company is fully cooperating with the relevant authorities to investigate the cause of this tragic accident, demonstrating their commitment to understanding the circumstances that led to such a tragic outcome.
NAWEC concluded, “Once again, we extend our deepest condolences and pray for strength for the bereaved families and colleagues of the deceased.”
