Egypt,Gabon commit to strengthening bilateral, African cooperation

Egypt and Gabon have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and addressing regional issues collaboratively.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi hosted Gabonese interim President Brice Oligui Nguema at the Ittihadiya Palace in Cairo on Saturday, underscoring their mutual dedication to African integration and development.
President Al-Sisi commended Gabon’s peaceful transition process and lauded the recent constitutional referendum as a significant milestone in Gabon’s progress.
He emphasized Egypt’s readiness to support Gabon in this transitional phase, highlighting the international community’s positive response to these developments.
The leaders agreed to bolster trade, investment, and infrastructure collaboration, prioritizing projects in road construction, electricity, and sanitation to accelerate Gabon’s development. Additionally, they explored enhancing cooperation in agriculture, renewable energy, industry, transport, and capacity building. Egypt also pledged increased support for Gabon’s health sector, including improving access to Egyptian pharmaceuticals.
On regional security and stability, the presidents emphasized continued dialogue and coordination to promote peace across the African continent.
They expressed optimism that the meeting would lead to tangible progress in fulfilling the aspirations of their peoples and fostering stronger ties across Africa.
