Mayor Malick-Lowe commends councillors, youth, announces resumption of pavement clearing exercise

The Mayor of Banjul, Rohey Malick-Lowe, has expressed profound gratitude to the city’s councillors and youths for their unwavering dedication and support.

In a statement shared on Saturday, the mayor applauded their commitment, which she described as a source of pride and inspiration.


“To my gallant and committed councillors and youths (sic) of Banjul, I remain grateful to you all. I salute and honor you for your dedication; you have made me a proud mayor,” she wrote.

The mayor also announced the resumption of the pavement clearing exercise, aimed at improving the city’s infrastructure and ensuring better accessibility. The operation is set to resume on Sunday, with an appeal to residents to cooperate by moving their vehicles off pavements and roadsides.

“The clearing of pavements exercise will resume tomorrow. Please endeavor to move your car from the pavements and on the roadside. We thank you for your cooperation,” she added.

The clearing initiative reflects Mayor Malick-Lowe’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the city’s aesthetics and functionality while ensuring smooth traffic flow. Residents of Banjul have been urged to comply with the directives to facilitate the success of the exercise.

The mayor’s leadership continues to garner support, with her message highlighting the collective efforts of the community in striving for a cleaner, more organized city.
