Barrow Donates D1 Million to Jambur Mosque Project

President Adama Barrow has pledged a personal donation of one million Dalasis to support the construction of the Central Mosque in Jambur Village.

The announcement came during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the village to the State House in Banjul.

Speaking on behalf of the visitors, Imam Omar Bojang thanked the President for the various development projects already completed in their community, including roadworks, health center renovation, electricity, and clean water.

He appealed for support to complete the mosque before the rainy season and requested a tractor to boost agricultural productivity.

While noting that the government does not allocate funds for religious structures, President Barrow assured the delegation of his personal support.

He also highlighted the government’s tractor payment scheme, where the government and community each pay 25% upfront and the remaining 50% is paid over four years.

The Alkalo of Jambur, Haruna Bojang, expressed appreciation for the President’s support and reaffirmed the community’s loyalty to his administration.
