ECOWAS 50th Anniversary Flag Hoisting Ceremony Held in Liberia
Liberia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs proudly hosted a flag hoisting ceremony on May 28, 2025, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
The event marked a significant milestone in ECOWAS’s journey of regional integration, economic growth, and peace-building across West Africa.
The ceremony, held at the Ministry’s premises in Monrovia, celebrated the achievements of the regional bloc over five decades and highlighted Liberia’s vital role in the success of ECOWAS. Liberia has consistently championed the organization’s mission by promoting stability, trade, and cooperation among member states.
As one of the founding members, Liberia’s contribution has been instrumental in advancing ECOWAS goals and ensuring sustained regional collaboration.
