Iran Fires Missiles at US Bases in Qatar, Iraq

Iran launched a barrage of missiles at United States military bases in Qatar and Iraq on Monday evening, in what Iranian state media described as a “powerful” retaliation for recent American strikes on key nuclear sites.
According to the state-run Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), the operation was codenamed “Blessing of Victory” and marked the beginning of Iran’s direct military response.
“The operation of Iranian missiles against American bases located in Qatar and in Iraq has begun, and is called ‘Blessing of Victory’,” IRNA reported.
AFP journalists in Doha, the Qatari capital, confirmed hearing multiple explosions, raising alarm in a city that hosts Al Udeid Air Base, the largest U.S. military installation in the Middle East.
Qatar swiftly issued a statement on the incident, confirming the interception of the missiles. “The Ministry of Defense announced that Qatari air defenses successfully intercepted a missile attack targeting Al Udeid Air Base,” the government said, stressing that “the incident did not result in any deaths or injuries.”
The missile strikes are the latest in a growing confrontation between Iran and the United States following tit-for-tat military actions in recent weeks. In related developments, Qatar has shut down parts of its airspace as a precaution amid rising regional tensions.
Meanwhile, global reactions continue to pour in. Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly pledged his country’s support to Iran, following the earlier US and Israeli airstrikes on Iranian facilities.
Though no casualties have been reported so far, analysts warn that the situation remains volatile and could spiral into a broader conflict if diplomatic de-escalation fails.
