20-Year-Old South African Launches Luxury Watch Brand

Buhle Gotsha, a 20-year-old entrepreneur from KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, has made headlines by launching his own luxury wristwatch brand, Ericsson Dorra, a name inspired by his parents, Eric and Theodorra.

Gotsha’s entrepreneurial journey began in 2021, driven by a deep passion for fashion and a desire to carve out a unique space in the industry. Originally considering a clothing line, Gotsha pivoted to timepieces when he realized the clothing market was becoming oversaturated.

“I wanted to start a company that had something to do with fashion, so I first thought of starting a clothing brand,” Gotsha told The African Dream. “But then as time went by I realized that there are already a lot of people who are starting their own clothing brand, and I wanted to be different.”

By 2022, he had begun crafting watches from his home, focusing on quality and style. The brand Ericsson Dorra has since gained recognition for producing some of South Africa’s finest locally made wristwatches.

Gotsha’s story stands as an inspiring example of innovation, resilience, and youth-driven enterprise, proving that big dreams can start ticking in even the smallest of spaces.
