Libya Counter-Terrorism Forces Arrest Two Nigerians Over Drug Trafficking in Misrata

Two Nigerians have been arrested in Misrata, Libya, by the country’s Counter-Terrorism Forces on allegations of drug trafficking.
According to a statement by Migrant Rescue Watch (MRW) on Sunday, the suspects—both undocumented migrants—were found in possession of hashish, hallucinogenic pills, and cash suspected to be proceeds from the illicit trade.
“Counter-Terrorism Forces arrested in Misrata two undocumented Nigerian migrants on charges of drug trafficking. The individuals were found in possession of hashish, hallucinogenic pills, and cash from proceeds. The case was referred to public prosecution,” MRW stated.
It was gathered that Libyan authorities have transferred the suspects to the public prosecution for further investigation and possible prosecution.
In recent years, Libya has intensified its crackdown on drug-related crimes, with security forces actively dismantling trafficking networks operating within and beyond its borders.
