New York State Attorney General, Letitia James, has stopped a school bus company in the Bronx for allegedly violating bus idling laws and polluting in communities of
color.
James disclosed this in a statement on Friday October 7, 2022.
“We cannot allow companies to risk the health of our most vulnerable communities with dangerous smog, soot, and greenhouse gases,” James said.
She added that the company, Hoyt Transportation, will pay tens of thousands of dollars that will be used to fight pollution and improve air quality in overburdened communities.
“The company will train its drivers, and bring in a monitor.”
James added, “My office will keep fighting to combat air pollution and environmental injustice,” he said.
