Nigeria: Kebbi govt approves new board members for pilgrims welfare

In a significant development, the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (PWA) has greenlit a fresh influx of board members, announced by the state’s Governor, Nasir Idris.

The announcement was made in a statement released by Alhaji Ahmed Idris, the governor’s chief press secretary, from Birnin Kebbi on a Monday.


The consent for this move was granted by Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), further cementing the decision.

“The new board is composed of 17 distinguished individuals, carefully chosen from across the state,” the statement reads.

Their diverse backgrounds and qualifications mark a promising future for the agency.

Heading this esteemed board is Faruku Yaro-Enabo, while the board members include prominent figures such as Husaini Abubakar-Goro, Sheihk Sharif Jega, and Malam Shuaibu S.-Fawa.

Also part of this dynamic group are Abubakar Muhammad-Tilli, Alhaji Sani Zauro-Hukuma, Alhaji Ahmad Bala, Umar Dan-BK, and Musa Dikko.

Hajiya Amina Garba-Majidadi, Kabiru Dan-Ankara, Abdulaziz Ubandoma-Yauri, Abubakar Zaki-Dantabuzuwa, and Hajiya Maryam Hassan-Kaoje, are additional notable members of the board.

Completing this dedicated team are Hajiya Balkisu Muhammad-Aiki, Hajiya Sa’adatu Abubakar, and Yuhanazu Abubakar-Nasarawa

Governor Idris has emphasized the importance of diligence and fairness as he charges these newly appointed board members with the significant responsibility of serving the people.

This decision holds great promise for the future of pilgrim welfare in Kebbi State.
