Arab contractors completes lifesaving bridge in Uganda

Egypt’s esteemed Arab Contractors Company has successfully completed the construction of the Saaka Road and Bridge project in Uganda, bridging a critical gap in the region’s infrastructure.

Ahmed El Assar, CEO and Chairman of Arab Contractors, announced the completion of this ambitious project, which traverses a swampy area plagued by the frequently flooding Mpologoma River. This vital infrastructure now connects several key cities in eastern Uganda, which had been cut off due to seasonal floods.

Spanning 4.5 kilometers through dense swampland, the new road is crowned by a robust bridge over the Ambulugoma River. Additionally, the project includes ten other significant industrial structures designed to withstand the challenging environmental conditions.

The Saaka Road and Bridge project is more than just a construction achievement; it is a lifeline for the local communities. The region previously suffered from severe disruptions, with last year’s floods tragically claiming 28 lives. This new infrastructure promises enhanced safety, improved connectivity, and economic upliftment for the area.

The Arab Contractors Company’s dedication and expertise have not only delivered a vital infrastructure project but also showcased the potential for future collaborations between Egypt and Uganda in addressing critical development needs.
