Four senior NAF officers honored with special promotions
Four distinguished Group Captains of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) have been specially promoted to the esteemed rank of Air Commodore.
This honorary advancement, symbolized by the prestigious one-star insignia, recognizes their exceptional dedication and unwavering loyalty to the NAF.
As articulated in a statement by NAF Spokesperson, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, the promotion ceremony was a significant event, underscoring the officers’ commendable character and professional excellence.
The newly promoted Air Commodores, who are also set to commence their retirement, were decorated with their new ranks by the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, in the presence of their proud families.
The officers promoted to Air rank include two esteemed Chaplains and an Imam, Air Commodores Okechukwu Godson Okoye, David Ajar Ahmadu, and Tahir Bin-Isah, alongside Air Commodore John Azubuike Opara, who was lauded for his outstanding performance as an astute administration officer. This special promotion highlights the significant impact these officers have had on the NAF and reaffirms the Air Council’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding excellence within its ranks.
