President Barrow leads comprehensive inspection tour of OIC road projects in Greater Banjul, West Coast Region

The Gambian President, Adama Barrow, has inspected Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) road projects in the Greater Banjul area and the West Coast Region.

The tour, aimed at assessing the progress of ongoing infrastructure works, began with a detailed inspection of the Bundung P15 Lot1, a significant stretch spanning 2.7 kilometers.


President Barrow was accompanied by a distinguished delegation of senior government officials, including the Chief of Staff from the Office of the President, the Secretary to the Cabinet, and Ministers from various ministries.

This high-level group underscored the importance of the projects and the government’s dedication to their successful completion. Following the initial inspection at Bundung, the delegation visited several key project sites, including Sukuta, Brusubi, Wulinkama, Brufut, and Bakoteh.

During his tour, President Barrow took the opportunity to engage directly with local communities, addressing their concerns regarding road conditions and water supply.

Acknowledging the challenges faced by residents, he assured them of the government’s proactive measures to enhance water supply and improve living conditions. This direct interaction highlighted the administration’s commitment to transparency and responsiveness to the needs of its citizens.

In addition to road projects, the Barrow administration is focused on improving street lighting and drainage systems across various communities to mitigate flooding risks. At the conclusion of the tour, President Barrow expressed his satisfaction with the visible progress of the projects, noting significant improvements in the road infrastructure.
