Chidimma Adetshina crowned Miss Universe Africa, Oceania
Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina, was crowned Miss Universe Africa and Oceania on Saturday, November 16, during the prestigious event held in Mexico.
Adetshina, a law student and model born and raised in South Africa, represented Nigeria, her father’s country, in the global beauty pageant.
Earlier this year, she made headlines when she withdrew from the final round of Miss South Africa in August following xenophobic attacks on social media.

Three months later, Adetshina achieved a remarkable feat, finishing as the first runner-up to Miss Denmark, Victoria Kjær Theilvig, who was crowned Miss Universe 2024. Theilvig succeeds Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua, marking the first time a contestant from Denmark has won the title.
Miss Mexico, Miss Thailand, and Miss Venezuela secured second, third, and fourth runner-up positions, respectively.
The 73rd edition of Miss Universe was a historic event for Africa, with 18 contestants from the continent participating—a record number. The competition featured 125 contestants from across the globe, celebrating diversity and beauty on an international stage.
