Gambia: President Adama Barrow unveils major development projects for Niamina, Fulladu
President Adama Barrow has pledged a series of transformative projects for the communities of Niamina and Fulladu during the 2024 Meet the People’s Tour.
Addressing the concerns raised by residents at a general meeting in Dankunku, the President announced plans to construct a 65-kilometer road in Niamina, extend electricity and water supply, and provide fishing boats and nets to support local livelihoods. He also committed to building a new health center in Jarren and renovating the Kudang Hospital.
During the event, President Barrow presented a cheque exceeding 6 million dalasi to 17 individuals for initiatives in rice farming, poultry rearing, and vegetable cultivation. The support aims to boost food production and economic activities in the region.

In Fulladu, the President extended further financial assistance, presenting over 13 million dalasi to 34 beneficiaries in the Central River Region (CRR) South. He also directed the Minister to construct a garden in Galleh Manda to enhance agricultural productivity.
Additionally, President Barrow announced that the government, in partnership with the GIRAV project, will construct a 33-kilometer road in Upper Fulladu to improve connectivity and economic opportunities.
These initiatives, he emphasized, reflect the government’s commitment to addressing the needs of rural communities and fostering development across the nation.
