MoHERST host Erasmus+ National Information Day in The Gambia
Today, the Honourable Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, Professor Pierre Gomez, presided over the Erasmus+ National Information Day in Bijilo. The event aims to empower The Gambia’s tertiary and higher education sector by providing key information on how to successfully engage with the Erasmus+ Programme, helping them submit competitive project proposals.
Minister Gomez emphasized the importance of this collaboration, which will offer funding for research, curriculum development, and innovative teaching methods. He encouraged all stakeholders, educators, policymakers, students, and researchers to seize the opportunities offered by Erasmus+ to foster international partnerships and advance diversity.
Representing the European Union in The Gambia Ms. Aisha Sillah highlighted how Erasmus+ promotes international cooperation in education and training, offering invaluable opportunities for young people, educators, and institutions to learn and collaborate across borders.
The event was moderated by the Erasmus+ Focal Point of The Gambia and Principal Science and Technology and Innovation Officer of the Ministry, Mr. Edward A. Mendy.
