African Presidents in US for Business Talks with Trump

Several African leaders, including the presidents of Guinea-Bissau, Senegal, Gabon, and Mauritania, have arrived in the United States following an invitation from the U.S. President Donald Trump.

Among them is the President of Guinea-Bissau, General Umaro Sissoco Embaló, who shared details of his visit on his official Facebook page.

According to him, he took part in the United States/Guinea-Bissau Business Executive Round Table held at the headquarters of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

“The meeting brought together North American entrepreneurs interested in investing in Guinea-Bissau and served as a space for dialogue on concrete opportunities in the energy, agriculture, technology and infrastructure sectors,” Embaló wrote.

He added that the event allowed him to present Guinea-Bissau as a promising destination for investment.

“On the occasion, the Head of State highlighted the economic potential of the country, reinforcing the image of a safe, stable Guinea-Bissau and with an attractive investment code, as well as strategic access to African regional markets,” he stated.

The high-level visit comes amid efforts to deepen U.S.-Africa private sector ties and create new pathways for investment across key sectors in West and Central Africa.
