Namibia partners Nigeria’s ICPC, EFCC to enhance anti-corruption efforts

Namibia has reached out to Nigeria’s Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to strengthen its fight against corruption. Highlighting Nigeria’s leadership in anti-corruption efforts across Africa, Namibia seeks to learn from the country’s expertise and achievements.

During a visit to ICPC headquarters in Abuja, Namibia’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Humphrey Geise, emphasized the need for collaboration and knowledge-sharing in tackling corruption. He noted the success of Nigerian agencies in asset recovery and their pivotal role in shaping the continent’s anti-corruption strategies. The Namibian government hopes that this partnership will further solidify Africa’s position in the global fight against corruption.

ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Aliyu, SAN, welcomed the collaboration, reaffirming Nigeria’s commitment to working with other African nations to combat corruption. He emphasized that a united approach is key to dismantling corrupt networks across the continent, leading to improved governance and increased foreign investment.

The partnership marks a significant step towards fostering stronger cooperation between African nations in ensuring accountability and transparency across the continent.
