Tunisians rally for better governance as election campaigns launch

Demonstrators, including former assembly member Samia Abbou, voiced their concerns about the country’s economic and political challenges while rallying for reforms that will help Tunisia thrive.

The peaceful protests highlighted the nation’s continued commitment to civic engagement, with many participants calling for safeguards to protect civil liberties and democratic principles. Demonstrator Sghaier Zakraoui emphasized the importance of upholding human rights, reflecting the Tunisian spirit that sparked the Arab Spring over a decade ago.


As President Kais Saied prepares for his re-election campaign, Tunisians are hopeful for a renewed focus on anti-corruption efforts and economic stability, with many looking forward to positive changes. The upcoming elections, scheduled for October 6, present an opportunity for the nation to further its progress, as voters prepare to make their voices heard once again.
