Uganda: Govt intervention leads to significant fuel price drop
Fuel prices are dropping steadily across Uganda following decisive government action, says Ms. Beatrice Akello Akori, State Minister for Economic Planning.
Speaking after a meeting in Kampala on Wednesday with Ms. Joanita Mukasa Menya, Managing Director of Vivo Energy Uganda, Ms. Akori attributed the decline to a strategic shift in fuel importation.
“The government’s intervention through our new importation plan is showing immediate results, offering much-needed relief to citizens,” Ms. Akori stated, underscoring the administration’s goal of maintaining stable and affordable fuel prices.
This effort reflects Uganda’s broader commitment to economic resilience and consumer protection, aiming to alleviate the financial burden on households and businesses.
