Danish Giant Vestas to invest €600m in manufacturing plant in Egypt

In a significant boost to Egypt’s renewable energy sector, Danish wind turbine industry leader Vestas has announced plans to establish an integrated turbine manufacturing plant in the country.

The €600 million project will encompass the entire production process, from raw materials to the final product and associated services.

The new plant is poised to address Egypt’s growing wind turbine needs. The country is currently developing 18 wind farms along the Red Sea, Saeed, and northern coastlines, with an anticipated demand for wind turbines expected to reach 65,000 MW in the coming years.

This development not only aims to expand renewable wind energy production within Egypt but also positions the country as a major export hub for wind turbines. The establishment of this plant marks a pivotal step in Egypt’s renewable energy journey, enhancing its role in the global wind energy market.
