BREAKING: Hajiya Yar’Adua passes away at 102
Hajiya Yar’Adua, the matriarch of the Yar’Adua family and mother of former Nigerian President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, has passed away at the age of 102.
According to reports, Hajiya Yar’Adua died on Monday evening after a brief illness.
However, there are conflicting accounts of her place of death, with some sources indicating she passed away at her home in Katsina, while others claim she died at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina.
Hajiya Yar’Adua was the mother of several prominent figures, including the late President Yar’Adua, who passed away in 2010, and the late General Shehu Musa Yar’adua who passed away in 1997.
Her other sons, Senator Abdu Soja Yar’adua and Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, the current Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army, remains political stakeholders in today’s Nigerian society.
The matriarch’s passing comes 13 years after the death of her son, President Yar’Adua, and 31 years after the death of her husband, Musa Yar’Adua, who passed away in 1993.
Tributes have begun pouring in for the late Dada, as she is fondly called, with many Nigerians taking to social media to express their condolences to the Yar’Adua family.
