Chimamanda Adichie to release her first novel in a decade, ‘Dream Count’
Renowned Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is set to release her highly anticipated novel, Dream Count, in March 2025, marking her first work of fiction in ten years. The novel, published by 4th Estate in the UK and Knopf in the US and Canada, is a departure from her recent children’s book Mama’s Sleeping Scarf and explores deep themes of love, heartbreak, and identity through the lives of four women.
Adichie expressed her excitement about the upcoming release on her Instagram page, describing the book as “serious and curious and probing and funny.” She shared that the writing process had been both challenging and rewarding, and she is eager for her fans to read the novel.
Dream Count follows four women—Chiamaka, a travel writer confronting her past; Zikora, a lawyer grappling with betrayal; Omelogor, a successful financial mogul questioning her identity; and Kadiatou, a housekeeper in America facing an unimaginable crisis. Each character’s journey delves into the complex emotions and experiences that shape their lives.
