President Barrow inspects road projects, pledges continued development

As part of his Meet the People’s Tour, President Adama Barrow visited the 22-kilometre EPC Road project, beginning at Farato Bojang Kunda, to assess its progress and interact with local communities.

The project, divided into five sections, includes:
– Farato Bojang Kunda to Bafuloto (6 km)
– Lamin through Babylon to Makumbaya (6 km)
– Tabokoto to Abuko and Banjulinding (3.7 km)
– Wellingara to Kunkujang Keitaya (4.2 km)
– Wellingara to Abuko Abattoir (4 km)

Designed as a double surface dressing road, the project features two-lane carriageways, parking spaces, sidewalks, paved shoulders, drainage systems, and streetlights.

President Barrow praised the contractors for achieving 40% completion and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to advancing infrastructure to support sustainable growth and economic development.

During a meeting in Sinchu Alagie, the President promised to extend infrastructural projects to other areas of the Old Yundum constituency, underlining his administration’s focus on equitable development.

To further bolster agricultural productivity and ensure food security, President Barrow presented a cheque of over Five Million Dalasis (D5M) as a matching grant to 14 individuals engaged in poultry, vegetable farming, and rice cultivation.
