Kenya, Ghana strengthen ties, focus on trade, investment
Kenya is set to deepen its bilateral relations with Ghana, with plans to expand cooperation into several key sectors, including trade, investment, agriculture, mining, tourism, and oil and gas.
This strategic move aims to create more opportunities for both nations and foster shared prosperity.
During a recent meeting, Kenya hosted Ghana’s President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, where they discussed enhancing intra-African trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The conversation also highlighted the importance of strengthening economic ties between the two nations.
In his address, Kenya expressed gratitude to President-elect Mahama for his support of Hon. Raila Odinga’s candidacy for Chairperson of the African Union Commission. The leaders also agreed to attend Mahama’s swearing-in ceremony in Accra next month, marking a significant step in their growing partnership.
The meeting, which was attended by Mr. Raila Odinga in Kilgoris, Narok County, underscores the commitment of both countries to work together for a prosperous future.
